Inkjet
sublimators generally prefer swing-away heat presses. This is
because this type of heat press lifts straight up and then swings to the right,
out of the way. They also close by going straight down.
This means that all closing
force is also going straight down. This is important when sublimating
thick items. Clamshell presses (they only lift up and do not swing
to the side) have a tendency to “pinch” thick items and create uneven
pressure.

only practical optional attachment (for the T-shirt business) is the cap
attachment, (shown above, attached to the DC16 frame). The cap attachment
turns the DC16 into a powerful and effective cap press. Heat
transfers cannot be used with the other two attachments (mug and ceramic
plate). Ceramics require inkjet sublimation
